Paco Cosentino: the visionary behind Cosentino

Honored with the Kingdom of Spain Award, Francisco ‘Paco’ Cosentino’s loved ones share insights into what makes this leader one-of-a-kind. 

Cosentino’s beloved President & CEO, Francisco ‘Paco’ Martínez-Cosentino was honored with the Kingdom of Spain Award presented by King Felipe VI for his invaluable contribution to the economic and social development of Spain through his business efforts and career. 

In honor of this incredible milestone, Paco’s family, coworkers, and industry counterparts shared some insight into what this incredible leader is like and the many ways in which his vision and unwavering passion for Cosentino has shaped it into the leading company it is today.

Paco’s brothers, Eduardo Martínez-Cosentino, President, Eduarda Justo Foundation, and José Martinez-Cosentino, VP of Treasury, Cosentino, spoke on Paco’s strategic vision and their three bankruptcies, which forced them to get back up, find innovative solutions and is partly to thank for his resilience. His middle son, Eduardo Cosentino, CEO Cosentino North America & EVP Global Sales, shares the same thoughts, “failures are key to overcoming, to facing a problem and never giving up” he said, “always with that honesty and humbleness he has which has undoubtedly marked all of our lives.”

His three children are a true testament to his spirit and passion for the company. The eldest of the three, Pilar Martínez-Cosentino Alfonso, EVP Deputy Chairman, Cosentino spoke of her fond memories of going to visit the quarries with her father and brothers, feeling an unbreakable bond with the business from a very young age.  His youngest son, Francisco Martínez-Cosentino Alfonso, Director of Digital Business, Cosentino spoke of his admiration for this father, “some people succeed by being a little selfish, looking out for themselves or their company, but our father was never like that, he has achieved success helping others, and that is of great value.”

His impact is felt far and wide by every employee and member of the community. “Paco says ‘good morning’ to us every single morning and understands in detail every process and project we are managing,” said Inés Burgos, Process & Integration Manager, “it is the strength that motivates us every day.”

Mayor of Macael, Raúl Martínez believes “Paco has something special that the rest of us don’t” while his childhood friend and current Executive Producer of aNews, José María Siles describes Paco in three words: Honesty, wisdom, and generosity.

Paco’s strategic vision and business acumen have allowed Cosentino to become the global innovator it is today, employing over 5,000 people and with presence in over 100 countries around the globe. In the words of his daughter, Pilar, “He is always capable of reinventing himself, in fact, he has the most youthful spirit out of all of us”
